VAMP ratio
is the total number of Visa fraud notifications (TC40) and chargebacks (TC15) divided by the total number of settled sales transactions. It is calculated as (fraud notifications + chargebacks) ÷ settled sales for the selected period.
Fraud rate is the total amount of fraud notifications (TC40/SAFE), in USD, divided by the total amount of settled sales transactions, in USD, broken down by card brand (Visa, Mastercard, or other). It is calculated as fraud notifications ÷ settled sales, always aggregated by month regardless of the selected time interval.
Dispute rate is the total number of chargebacks divided by the total number of settled sales transactions. It is calculated as chargebacks ÷ settled sales.
Card disputes are counted per period with no rolling window. PayPal and other alternative payment method disputes use a trailing 3-month window instead, so the numbers are not directly comparable across payment method types.
Claim rate is the percentage of order value disputed through an alternative payment method (for example, PayPal) claim process. It is calculated as disputed amount ÷ orders amount over a trailing 3-month window. A spike in one month continues to affect the rate for the following two months.
